Trump and Bernie sounded like opposites–but in 2016, they were shouting the same message:
You’re getting screwed by the system.
And they were right. If you had money and assets during the Obama years, you did really well–thanks to massive money printing by the Fed But if you didn’t have capital? You fell further behind. The inflation wasn’t at the grocery store… It was in the stock market, in real estate, and in financial assets.
That’s why the middle class got hollowed out, and that’s why tens of millions felt that pain–on both sides of the political spectrum.
